Cerca de 100 personas han sido víctimas de una banda internacional que engaña para quedarse con la cuenta de mensajería.
Esto le sucedió a Andrés, un usuario al que le realizaron una llamada y le llegó un mensaje en el que le pedían actualizar sus códigos de seguridad con motivo de la pandemia del coronavirus. Luego de abrir un link y se seguir unos pasos que le indicaron, se quedó sin WhatsApp.
“Perdí todos los mensajes desde febrero a la fecha y nunca los pude recuperar, esto afectó comunicaciones con mi grupo de trabajo y clientes de la compañía”, aseguró la víctima.
El coronel Luis Fernando Atuesta, jefe cibernético de la Policía, contó que “los delincuentes tienen acceso a la última actualización y pueden obtener fotografías y conversaciones, que pueden usar para extorsionar a las personas o hacerse pasar por ellas y pedirle ayuda a conocidos”.
¿Cómo evitar este delito informático?
El coronel Atuesta recomienda hacer una doble validación del código de seguridad tanto en el teléfono celular como en su correo electrónico. Además, no abrir ningún tipo de enlace que le llegue a esta u otras aplicaciones.
