Así es el proyecto que contribuye a la resiliencia del Lago Sochagota, en Boyacá

Colosal Noticias

Creado en 1956, sobre un humedal natural, para fortalecer actividades económicas en el municipio de Paipa, el Lago Sochagota es alimentado por el Páramo de la Cortadera que integra el complejo andino Tota – Bijagual – Mamapacha. Allí también confluyen las aguas termomineralizadas locales.

Se trata de un sistema de 1,8 km² convertido en hábitat de varias especies de peces, aves, insectos, reptiles y mamíferos en sus inmediaciones, indispensable así mismo para la agricultura, el turismo y las juntas veredales de acueductos.

Aquellos actores en compañía de las universidades de Boyacá, de Antioquia y de Cantabria (España), y la Alcaldía de Paipa, han sido respaldados por la Gobernación de Boyacá en la búsqueda de soluciones que permitan enfrentar retos como el cambio climático, la calidad y la disponibilidad del agua.

Por eso el proyecto ‘Resiliencia y gestión de sistemas socioecológicos estrtatégicos para la actividad agrícola, en escenarios de variabilidad climática. Caso de estudio: Lago Sochagota’, fue uno de los 12 seleccionados a partir de la Convocatoria 794 de I+D o Investigación y Desarrollo, una iniciativa con sello Boyacá BIO que alcanza recursos de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación (CTeI) por $ 8.000 millones.
