6 de abril, se conmemora el Día Mundial de la Actividad Física

El 6 de abril conmemoramos el Día Mundial de la Actividad Física, con el ánimo de motivar a la ciudadanía en prevenir enfermedades a través de hábitos y estilos de vida saludable como lo es realizar ejercicio.
La celebración de esta fecha nace durante la 54a Asamblea Mundial de la Salud en el año 2002, en donde se define que para ese año el Día Mundial de la Salud tendría como tema la promoción de la actividad física, desde esa fecha la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) lo mantiene como un evento permanente a través del programa Agita Mundo, inspirado por el Programa Agita São Paulo, de la Secretaría de Salud del Estado de São Paulo, por su impacto internacional. 
Es así, como cada año la Red de Actividad Física de las Américas/Physical Activity Network of the Americas (RAFA/PANA) define un lema, el cual permite convocar y movilizar a la región en torno al cumplimiento de las recomendaciones internacionales en actividad física de la OMS y recordar los beneficios que trae su práctica regular sobre las personas y las sociedades. Para este año, se insta a los países a concentrar sus actividades y mensajes en torno al lema: “¡Muévase para vivir!»
La promoción de la actividad física, es una herramienta eficiente para disminuir la prevalencia de enfermedades no transmisibles, como las cardiovasculares, el cáncer y la diabetes, mejorando el control en quienes las padecen e impactando la carga de enfermedad y la mortalidad prematura, además proporciona mejoría en el estado funcional del individuo y su calidad de vida. 
Modificar estilos de vida como son la alimentación saludable y cesar el consumo de tabaco y alcohol son factores determinantes para que, junto a la actividad física, se pueda garantizar un mejor funcionamiento de las funciones vitales.
A lo largo de la vida, la práctica de actividad física favorece el desarrollo motor, psicosocial, cognitivo y la regulación emocional. Es así, que dada la evidencia positiva entre actividad física y resultados en salud y calidad de vida, además de todas las circunstancias que atravesamos a nivel mundial consecuencia de la pandemia por la Covid-19, ratifican a la actividad física como un factor favorecedor de la longevidad y la calidad de vida, destacando que la práctica cotidiana de la actividad física de forma moderada y regular, disminuye el impacto de las enfermedades crónicas que, junto con la abstención del tabaco y el hábito de una alimentación sana, conforman una estrategia global para prevenir numerosas enfermedades no transmisibles.
“La actividad física es algo muy sencillo, es todo lo que nos genere un gasto energético, un gasto calórico como los movimientos al bailar, subir y bajar escaleras, caminar y nadar, de esta forma ya estamos realizando actividad física” Wester Pérez, Licenciado en Educación Física, Recreación y Deporte, propietario del centro de acondicionamiento físico Wester Gym de Monterrey Casanare.
Por su parte la Secretaría de Salud de Casanare realizará durante esta conmemoración, actividades de baile tipo zumba y juegos dinámicos que permitan a sus funcionarios motivarse y realizar actividad física a diario.
