Ecopetrol sella alianza con seis empresas internacionales para desarrollo de hidrógeno

Con el propósito de potencializar los resultados de su Plan Estratégico de hidrógeno de bajo carbono (verde, azul y blanco), Ecopetrol seleccionó como aliados estratégicos a las compañías Total Eren y EDF de Francia, Siemens de Alemania, H2B2 de España, Empati de Reino Unido y Mitsui de Japón.
A partir de junio, estas seis empresas y Ecopetrol iniciarán un trabajo en equipo para articular acciones que permitirán fortalecer el desarrollo del Plan Estratégico de hidrógeno de bajo carbono con proyectos específicos para descarbonizar la producción de hidrógeno de las refinerías y en iniciativas de uso industrial y de movilidad sostenible.
Los principales objetivos de estas alianzas son:
• Crear valor para alcanzar la competitividad del costo de producción de hidrógeno de bajo carbono.
• Estructurar oportunidades de financiamiento e inversión, e integrar la cadena de abastecimiento de nuevas tecnologías.
• Identificar mercados en etapas tempranas.
• Potencializar el acceso a energías renovables y asegurar los tiempos de
ejecución de proyectos.

Actualmente, tenemos en marcha 18 oportunidades y estudios para lograrlo, y estas alianzas con empresas especializadas robustecerán nuestro plan para lograr los objetivos que nos hemos propuesto en nuestra estrategia 2040 Energía que Transforma”, dijo el presidente de Ecopetrol, Felipe Bayón desde Davos (Suiza) donde participa en la reunión anual del Foro Económico Mundial.
Más de 80 empresas de 16 países participaron en un proceso riguroso y transparente, en el cual se surtieron tres etapas clasificatorias que arrojaron como resultado la selección de las seis empresas para sellar la alianza. Los factores que se tuvieron en cuenta para su selección fueron la disponibilidad de recursos de inversión, el acceso a última tecnología, la experiencia en desarrollo de proyectos, el acceso a mercados y valor agregado.

Para la ejecución del plan estratégico de hidrógeno verde, azul y blanco, que tiene como meta una producción al 2040 de un millón de toneladas por año, el Grupo Ecopetrol estima inversiones anuales promedio cercanas a los US$140 millones al 2024, equivalentes a unos $560 mil millones de pesos. Este energético aportará entre el 9% y el 11% a la meta de reducción del 50% de las emisiones alcance 1, 2 y 3 al 2050.
