Este domingo 26 de junio, se llevará a cabo la prueba de ruta de los Juegos Bolivarianos Valledupar 2022, en la que Colombia buscará mantener el dominio en la rama masculina que ha tenido en las últimas ediciones, mientras que en femenino intentará recuperar el título que ha sido esquivo en las últimas dos.
El equipo nacional dirigido por Carlos Mario Jaramillo ultima detalles para tomar la partida de la prueba de ruta que se disputará este domingo en ambas ramas.
En varones, la competencia comenzará a las 8:00 de la mañana, con salida en la Gobernación del César y un recorrido de 170.8 kilómetros, que cruzará por los municipios de Valencia, Aguas Blancas, María Angola, Caracolí y tendrá llegada en el Parque de Pueblo Bello.
Un recorrido que comienza con una altura promedio de 120 metros, pero que ascenderá desde el kilómetro 150, para llegar a Pueblo Bello ubicado a 1.111 metros, en las montañas de la Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.
Aldemar Reyes, Brayan Sánchez, Cristian Muñoz, Diego Ochoa y los medallistas en la contrarreloj individual: Walter Vargas (oro) y Rodrigo Contreras (plata) serán los encargados de buscar una nueva victoria para Colombia en la ruta, y mantener la hegemonía nacional en la prueba, emulando las victorias de Juan Pablo Suárez, en Santa Marta 2017; de Fernando Gaviria en Trujillo 2013, y de Giovanny Báez en Sucre 2009.
Por su parte, en la rama femenina, se disputarán 107.6 kilómetros, con salida a las 8:10 de la mañana de la Gobernación del César, y con la llegada a Pueblo Bello, en prueba que tendrá la participación de Ana Cristina Sanabria, Andrea Alzate, Camilla Valbuena, Camila Sánchez, Sara Moreno, y la medallista de plata en la CRI, Serika Guluma.
Las colombianas irán en busca del oro, que les ha sido esquivo desde Sucre 2009, edición en la que Paola Madriñan se llevó el oro en suelo boliviano. La gran rival a vencer para las colombianas será Lilibeth Chacón, de Venezuela, ganadora de los oros de las últimas dos ediciones de los Juegos en esta prueba, en Trujillo 2013 y en Santa Marta 2017.
También parten como favoritas para subirse al podio bolivariano: Myriam Núñez de Ecuador (campeona de la CRI), y Catalina Soto y Aranza Villalón de Chile.
