Nueva presidenta de Perú no descarta elecciones anticipadas

La presidenta de Perú, Dina Boluarte, dijo que baraja la posibilidad de convocar a elecciones generales anticipadas si fracasa la tregua política que pidió para superar la crisis política crónica que sacude a su país, que ha tenido seis presidentes desde 2017.

“Hay algunas voces que indican adelanto de elecciones, creo que la asunción a la presidencia es para reorientar lo que sucede en el país”, dijo Boluarte, que asumió el poder tras la fulminante destitución de Pedro Castillo el miércoles, luego de un fallido autogolpe de Estado.

Boluarte reiteró el pedido de una tregua política y señaló que aún no ha escogido a su jefe de gabinete y a su gobierno, en su primera conferencia de prensa en la sede del Ejecutivo.

Sin embargo no descartó convocar a elecciones generales anticipadas antes del fin de su mandato en julio de 2026.

“Más adelante, en coordinaciones con otras organizaciones, estaremos viendo alternativas de (cómo) mejor reorientar los destinos del país”, respondió Boluarte sobre si evalúa convocar elecciones a corto plazo.

Durante su investidura en el Congreso el miércoles, había dicho que gobernaría hasta la fecha en que estaba previsto el fin del mandato del expresidente Castillo, julio de 2026.

Pero centenares manifestantes en Ayacucho y Puno reclamaban este jueves elecciones generales ya y el cambio del Congreso, según imágenes de televisoras locales.

Ayacucho y Puno son dos de las regiones de los Andes del sur de Perú donde Castillo, un maestro rural, acaparó el voto popular en 2021.

En Lima, cientos de simpatizantes de Castillo también pidieron el miércoles nuevas elecciones.

Detención por siete días

Mientras tanto un alto tribunal peruano dictó siete días de prisión preliminar para Castillo, acusado de rebelión y conspiración tras su fallido golpe de estado.

“Juzgado Supremo de Investigación Preparatoria, a cargo de juez Juan Carlos Checkley, dispone siete días de detención preliminar contra el expresidente Pedro Castillo, investigado por el delito de rebelión (alternativamente conspiración)”, tuiteó el Poder Judicial.

Centenares de manifestantes en las regiones andinas de Ayacucho, Puno y Huancavelica reclamaban elecciones generales ya y el cambio del Congreso, según imágenes de televisoras locales.

Las manifestaciones comenzaron la noche del miércoles, cuando cientos de simpatizantes y de opositores de Castillo se concentraron frente a la prefectura de Lima, donde se hallaba detenido.

El presidente de Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, dijo este jueves que el destituido expresidente de Perú Pedro Castillo fue llevado “al extremo” de disolver el Congreso e intentar gobernar por decreto, presionado por una “conspiración para un golpe parlamentario”.

“Una vez que se juramenta (…), comienza la conspiración para un golpe parlamentario y comienza el ataque, el desgaste: votos de censura contra los ministros, contra los jefes del gabinete, un acoso permanente, hasta que golpe a golpe, acoso a acoso en una persecución parlamentaria, política y judicial sin límites, lo llevaron al extremo de intentar disolver el Congreso del Perú”, expresó Maduro en un acto político.
