La Liga de Taekwondo del departamento organizó con éxito el Torneo de 2023. El evento, tuvo lugar los días 19 y 20 de agosto en el Coliseo Bicentenario de Yopal, marcando la pauta deportiva de la región al servir como plataforma selectiva para el Campeonato Mundial Infantil y Cadetes y también para la clasificación de deportistas que competirán en los Juegos Deportivos Nacionales 2023.
Se destaca la presencia de William Duarte, maestro de la Selección Colombia en esta disciplina; junto con el liderazgo de Lida Hernández, entrenadora departamental, quienes organizaron dicho evento a favor de la excelencia de este deporte.
Más de 200 atletas provenientes de diversos municipios como Aguazul, Maní, Tauramena, Paz de Ariporo y Yopal, se unieron en un esfuerzo por asegurar un lugar en el Campeonato Mundial Infantil y Cadetes. Con el apoyo de la Gobernación de Casanare a través del Indercas. El compromiso de las autoridades locales en el desarrollo del deporte se manifestó en la disponibilidad de un equipo interdisciplinario compuesto por médicos y fisioterapeutas del deporte, quienes estuvieron presentes para garantizar la seguridad y el bienestar de los atletas.
Con la celebración de este exitoso torneo, la comunidad del taekwondo del departamento, demuestra que el deporte es más que una actividad física: es una forma de vida que promueve la unidad, la superación y la dedicación. El Taekwondo casanareño ha dejado una huella imborrable en la historia y se espera que siga cosechando éxitos en los desafíos por venir.
