Respondiendo al objeto de Asocapitales, el alcalde Juan Qüenza agradeció a los demás alcaldes por su elección y aseguró que va a trabajar de la mano de todos para fortalecer las ciudades.
“Aquí vamos a trabajar por todas las ciudades capitales, vamos a fortalecer el trabajo de cada uno de los alcaldes. Llegó el momento en que nosotros la representación política del país empecemos a tomar postura frente a muchas situaciones que ocurren en el país”, señaló el mandatario de la capital de Arauca.
El encuentro también contó con la presencia de la ministra de Ambiente, Susana Muhamad, y la consejera Presidencial para las Regiones, Sandra Ortiz, quienes destacaron la selección de Cali como sede de la COP 16, el evento de biodiversidad más importante del planeta.
Los alcaldes de las ciudades capitales, reunidos en la Asamblea Extraordinaria de la Asociación, aseguraron que la COP 16 no le pertenece solo a Cali, sino a toda Colombia, y que a partir de ahora participarán y respaldarán de manera activa su organización y realización, con el apoyo de Asocapitales.
