El casanareño Robinson Rincón, ganó la contrarreloj individual Junior del Campeonato Panamericano de Ruta, que se celebra en Sao Paulo, Brasil, el llanero registró 30:04.770, en 23.6 kilómetros de recorrido. Con el logro, retiene lo hecho el año anterior en Panamá, donde obtuvo el mejor tiempo para la Selección Colombia.
En la jornada de este martes 21 de mayo, lo escoltó el ecuatoriano Mateo Ramírez – 30:49.114 (+44) y cerró el podio Luiz Fernando Bonfim, de Brasil con 31:35.399 (+1:30). Cabe decir que, con este triunfo, Rincón se convierte en el segundo colombiano que alcanza el bicampeonato Panamericano de la contrarreloj luego del antioqueño (San Rafael) Sebastián Salazar Castañeda, que ganó los títulos de Duitama 2007 y Cuenca 2008.
“Feliz de repetir título, agradezco al Comité Olímpico, al Ministerio, a la Federación con el Dr. Mauricio Vargas, a mi profe Carlos Mario, y todos quienes hacen posible cumplir nuestro sueño, era una contrarreloj un poco larga, sabíamos que iba ser muy fuerte por los repechos que tenía, era un recorrido muy similar a Panamá y muy feliz de aportar esta medalla para mi país. Siempre es un orgullo y espero estar en el Mundial para hacer una buena presentación”, dijo Robinson al finalizar.
En el certamen participan 29 países y 340 ciclistas los que disputan las preseas en las pruebas de contrarreloj y ruta, categoría junior, sub 23 y élite.
Las naciones que están animando esta lid continental son Guatemala, México, Paraguay, Perú, Anguilla, Belice, Bermuda, Dominica, Ecuador, Estados Unidos, Granada, Guayana, Honduras, Islas Caimán, San Vicente y las Granadinas, Brasil Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Panamá, Puerto Rico, República Dominicana y Uruguay.
