La Dirección de Casa de Justicia de Yopal, en articulación con el Instituto Nacional Penitenciario y Carcelario (INPEC), desarrollan en las instituciones educativas de la ciudad el programa «Delinquir No Paga», una iniciativa que consiste en llevar a los jóvenes a la cárcel La Guafilla, con el objetivo de prevenir el delito juvenil y el consumo de sustancias psicoactivas.
La iniciativa ha logrado impactar a 66 estudiantes provenientes de tres centros educativos: Instituto Técnico Empresarial de Yopal (ITEY), Instituto Técnico Ambiental San Mateo y el Colegio Luis Carlos Galán Sarmiento del corregimiento La Chaparrera.
Como parte de una estrategia macro de prevención, un equipo interdisciplinario de Casa de Justicia, conformado por psicólogos y abogados, se viene adelantando desde hace tres meses diversas capacitaciones en las instituciones educativas, buscando prevenir el consumo de drogas y el delito, fortalecer el tejido social, además de orientar a los jóvenes hacia proyectos de vida positivos.
Para garantizar el éxito de la visita al centro penitenciario La Guafilla, los directivos de las instituciones educativas realizaron una cuidadosa selección de estudiantes participantes. Posteriormente, el proceso incluyó la socialización y obtención de consentimientos de padres de familia, talleres de preparación emocional, y un seguimiento posterior para evaluar el impacto en los estudiantes.
Durante el recorrido, los jóvenes conocieron las instalaciones de la cárcel La Guafilla y escucharon testimonios directos de personas privadas de la libertad (PPL), bajo la supervisión de funcionarios del INPEC, docentes y funcionarios de Casa de Justicia. Esta experiencia brindó a los jóvenes una mirada realista sobre el impacto de las conductas delictivas.
«Esta iniciativa permite que los jóvenes conozcan directamente las consecuencias de delinquir y tomar malas decisiones, sacándolos de su cotidianidad y haciéndolos conscientes de cómo sus decisiones pueden afectar sus proyectos de vida», afirmó la directora de Casa de Justicia, Leidy Esmeralda Arévalo Corredor.
Por su parte, Alejandro Arango, estudiante del ITEY, reflexionó sobre la experiencia señalando que fue una valiosa enseñanza sobre los extremos de la vida, reconociendo que el camino de delinquir solo lleva a la muerte o la prisión.
Nayibe Mérida, madre de familia del ITEY, expresó su gratitud al alcalde Marco Tulio Ruíz por las iniciativas preventivas implementadas en los colegios a través de Casa de Justicia, y lo instó a mantener estas estrategias que alejan a los jóvenes de caminos equivocados.
