Desde la Secretaría de Medio Ambiente y Cambio Climático, los profesionales de la Coordinación de Arbolado están llevando a cabo una innovadora iniciativa para enfrentar los retos del verano en Yopal. Como parte del proyecto “Yopal florece para todos”, se está instalando un sistema de riego sostenible que reutiliza botellas plásticas para garantizar el cuidado eficiente de los árboles en esta temporada seca.
Este sistema de riego se basa en el uso de botellas plásticas o envases desechables, adaptados para suministrar agua por goteo directamente al pie de cada árbol. La implementación de este sistema tiene como objetivo optimizar el uso del agua, un recurso vital que se vuelve más escaso durante los meses de verano. Además, esta iniciativa permite que el agua llegue de manera más eficiente al suelo, contribuyendo a la conservación de los árboles y reduciendo el desperdicio de recursos.
Esta estrategia también busca fomentar el reciclaje y la reutilización de plásticos, promoviendo prácticas sostenibles que alinean la protección ambiental con el bienestar de las comunidades. “Este tipo de iniciativas son fundamentales para mitigar los efectos del cambio climático y garantizar la preservación de nuestras áreas verdes”, señaló la coordinadora de arbolado, Yaley Garzón.
