La rápida reacción de los soldados del Grupo Guías del Casanare permitió la captura del hombre de 51 años en el corregimiento Montañas del Totumo, desde donde también le brindaron asistencia a él y a su hijo, trasladándolos en ambulancia al centro de salud más cercano debido a la gravedad de sus heridas. El mismo, fue puesto a disposición de la autoridad pertinente para continuar con el proceso de judicialización y legalización de la captura.
