Ecopetrol hará inversiones socio-ambientales antes de finalizar el 2021

En línea con su propósito de incentivar la reactivación económica del país y mejorar la calidad de vida de las comunidades, el Grupo Ecopetrol ejecutará recursos de inversión social, ambiental y relacionamiento por $255 mil millones en lo que resta del año para completar un total de $405.000 millones en 2021, lo que beneficiará a más de 329 mil colombianos a lo
largo y ancho del territorio nacional.
Las inversiones estratégicas y obligatorias están enmarcadas dentro del plan de desarrollo sostenible del grupo. En ese sentido, el primer semestre del año ya se ejecutaron inversiones en proyectos de esta naturaleza por $150 mil millones, logrando una cobertura de más de 41.000 colombianos.
En lo que resta del año las ejecuciones de las iniciativas se enfocarán principalmente en los departamentos de Norte del Santander, Santander, Huila, Putumayo, Meta, Atlántico, Magdalena, Cesar, Tolima, Cundinamarca, Arauca, Casanare, Bolívar y Guajira, entre otros.
Estos recursos se irrigarán a través de 5 líneas de inversión: (i) Educación, Deporte y Salud; (ii) Desarrollo Rural Inclusivo; (iii) Emprendimiento y Desarrollo Empresarial, (iv) Acceso a Servicios Públicos de Agua Potable, Energía y Gas, y (v) Infraestructura Pública y Comunitaria. (Ver infografía)
Adicionalmente, en el primer semestre del año al Grupo Ecopetrol le fueron asignados 6 nuevos proyectos bajo el mecanismo de Obras por Impuestos PDET, por valor $63 mil millones, que beneficiarán a más de 50 mil habitantes, mediante el mejoramiento de vías y la dotación de mobiliario para escuelas.
De esta forma, el GE se consolida como el de mayor asignación bajo este mecanismo (43% del total de obras del país) representados en $408.411 millones, asignados entre los años 2017 y 2020, con 44 proyectos en 14 departamentos del país.
De otra parte, durante el primer semestre se asignaron ayudas para apoyar la atención de la pandemia provocada por la Covid-19, por $4.000 millones, representados en equipos médicos, entregados en las regiones Central, Catatumbo-Arauca, Orinoquía y Caribe. Desde el inicio de la pandemia el Grupo Ecopetrol acumula ayudas entregadas por cerca de $84 mil millones.

“En el marco de nuestra Estrategia de Desarrollo Sostenible, estamos realizando importantes inversiones que contribuyen a reactivar la economía y mejoran la calidad de vida de las comunidades. A través del desarrollo de proyectos conjuntos con diferentes instituciones, estamos dinamizando la contratación de mano de obra y de bienes y servicios. Así es como respondemos al compromiso de ser la energía que transforma a Colombia” sostuvo Diana Escobar Hoyos, vicepresidenta de Desarrollo Sostenible de Ecopetrol.
Al 2024 la inversión socioambiental estimada alcanzará $1.7 billones, con lo cual se espera beneficiar a más de 2 millones de colombianos.
