Atendiendo su compromiso con el desarrollo y posicionamiento del deporte escolar en Colombia, y con una inversión total de 19.500 millones de pesos, el Ministerio del Deporte anunció el cronograma de la fase regional y final nacional de los Juegos Intercolegiados Nacionales, en su vigencia 2023.
Así las cosas, los estudiantes de las categorías prejuvenil y juvenil, en las ramas masculina y femenina, que hayan superado la instancia zonal y departamental, enfrentarán ahora la fase regional del 3 al 14 de abril, en ocho sedes ya confirmadas, de acuerdo a cada región del país.
En ese sentido, la zona centro-sur, la acogerá el municipio de Rivera, Huila; centro-oriente se disputará en Cúcuta, Caribe 1 tendrá lugar en Riohacha, Caribe 2 en Cartagena y la zona Pacífico se llevará a cabo en Pasto. Sumado a ello, Pereira será sede del Eje Cafetero, Amazonía se disputará en Bogotá y quienes compitan por la región Orinoquía se trasladarán a Yopal.
Los vencedores de esta fase regional, competirán en la final nacional, que se desarrollará entre el 16 y el 28 de abril, en Bogotá y Valledupar. En ambas instancias, se prevé la participación de más de 12.000 personas, entre deportistas, delegados, oficiales y jueces.
Tirso Zorro Guio, director (e) de Fomento y Desarrollo de la entidad, instó a los entes departamentales y a las instituciones educativas a participar activamente de las acciones encaminadas al desarrollo de estas justas deportivas. ??Este es un proceso que tuvo una masiva participación. Más de 400 mil jóvenes inscritos que demuestran cómo el deporte y la actividad física son pilares fundamentales en la formación de nuestros niños, niñas y jóvenes, futuros talentos del país??.
Cabe resaltar que en la fase regional nacional y la final nacional del Programa Juegos Intercolegiados Nacionales 2023, solo podrán participar los estudiantes/deportistas, docentes/entrenadores, docentes/asistentes, instituciones educativas y organizaciones que atienden deportistas con discapacidad, que se encuentran inscritos y reportados en la plataforma de inscripción 2023.
