En un año destacado para la Gestión del Riesgo de Desastres, el gobernador César Ortiz Zorro ha dejado una marca imborrable con la construcción de 8,5 kilómetros de canales y jarillones en los puntos más críticos por inundaciones del departamento. En el que resulta incuantificable los cultivos, viviendas, predios e infraestructura pública protegida.
Cada uno de los trabajos alcanzados, señalados a continuación, tienen el mérito de haberse trabajado mediante la premisa: todos ponen, en el que, bajo el liderazgo de Guillermo Velandia, director de Gestión del Riesgo en Casanare, se logró unir a campesinos, organismos de socorro, alcaldías, diputados, empresas privadas y gobernación, para reducir los peligros asociados a los eventos climáticos.
Así pues, se destaca la construcción de 3 kilómetros del canal y jarillón en el río Charte, Maní, que redujo y mitigó las inundaciones a la vía, viviendas, un plantel educativo y cultivos en las veredas La Consigna, Matepiña y La Armenia. De igual manera, 1.0 kilómetros de canal y jarillón en el río Cravo Sur, con lo cual se minimizó el riesgo de socavación de la Planta de Tratamiento de Agua Potable, garantizando el suministro a más de 150 mil yopaleños.
Otras obras de estas mismas características se construyeron a la altura de la vereda La Guamalera y Palomas, sobre el río Cravo Sur. En el río Tate, Hato Corozal y río Pauto, Pore, los canales y jarillones con longitudes de 1.0 kilómetros y 250 metros, respectivamente, benefician comunidades en zonas rurales.
En el río Aricaporo, Hato Corozal: 800 metros de jarillón protegen la bocatoma del acueducto de la vereda Aricaporo, esencial para el acceso al agua. Y en el río Ariporo: 250 metros de obra han contribuido en la protección del puente militar sobre la Marginal del Llano.
